Wheat futures finished the session sharply higher again today and for the fifth day in a row. Prices for the week were up 98 cents for the SRW, up 95 cents for the HRW and up 66 cents for the HRS wheat. The weekly CFTC report showed Managed Money had increased their net short wheat position by 3,870 contracts bringing their net short position to 50,057 contracts as of Tuesday the reporting period. Possible liquidation of a portion of those contracts may have contributed to the wheat rally this week. Wheat prices are took out the 2012 highs on the weekly continuation chart this week after being in a consolidation pattern for the past 6 months.
